Buckeye Healthy Schools Alliance (BHSA) recognizes that health, education, and business can work together to support school health education to improve the health status of Ohio’s young people.
Ohio currently does NOT have health education standards. The foundation for improving school health education is having quality state health education standards. Therefore, BHSA supports legislation for Ohio to adopt the National Health Education Standards. This legislation will require no new funding and will allow for decision about health content that is taught to be made at the local level.
